We’ve lived in Angleton, TX for more than 54 years. Our family had owned
and operated Brockman’s clothing stores since 1919. We closed our stores in
1990 and retired. And now that we have reached the four score mark in our life,
acquired a few more disabilities, the thought of having to keep up a home and
property was out of the question under the circumstances. We chose a pleasant
and practical home for the two of us. Our daughter, Sara, surveyed our options
for us and felt we would be most at home here at the Carriage Inn. She was
right! The staff is taking care of our needs beautifully, at the same time,
leaving us free to be independent. Here we are provided our meals in a lovely
dining room. There are conveniences such as laundry, a friendly beauty shop, a
quiet library, an indoor post office, housekeeping once a week, trash pickup right outside our apartment door
and an exercise room. Everything from dining
to picking up the mail is all under one roof!
Perk says, “Jay especially enjoys
the Blue Bell ice cream that is served in our Ice Cream Parlor”. We have a
beautiful limousine service when we don’t want to drive our own car to run
errands. The activity program is geared so that there is something for everyone
to enjoy. We also get some great exercise walking indoors down the halls for
the various activities. We enjoy the live entertainment and our weekly
excursions to interesting places like the upcoming Mercer Arboretum and the
trip to Rockport in April.
The best part about living at the Carriage Inn is the interesting,
friendly people and staff that we’ve met.
